Glen Brooks Lead Pastor

Glen felt called by God in 2000 to start Harbor Church. Over the years he has experienced cheers, tears, and jeers, and through it all God remains faithful to his call. The joy Glen feels by serving God at Harbor is a great example of what it means to be squarely in God’s will.

Glen began his ministry serving as a youth pastor at two different churches in Arizona. He then served as the executive pastor at a church in Arizona and another in California. Each of these positions, coupled with the experiences that resulted, have helped to develop his passion and vision for Harbor Church.

Glen began his college career as an electrical engineering major at the University of Utah. During his junior year, he recognized that he was being called by God to enter full-time ministry. Three years later, Glen graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Upon graduating from the University of Utah, Glen headed to Colorado where he received a Master’s Degree from Denver Seminary.

Glen and his wife, Pamela, have been married for over 30 years. They have three adult children: two terrific daughters (and 2 awesome sons-in-law), a fantastic son, and 4 delightful grandchildren.

Glen has been involved in sports since before he can remember, but has recently realized the advantages (necessity) of low impact exercise. Glen now considers himself a “cyclist,” and enjoys doing long rides on his road bike. He has started a cycling group at Harbor that has provided a great combination of exercise and relationship building. Glen is also a diehard Chicago Bears fan!

Sam Koopmans  Executive Pastor

Sam and his wife, Kara, moved to Folsom in July of 2008. Shortly thereafter, Sam and Kara found themselves at Harbor Church and immediately felt at home. They were excited to welcome their son, Asher, into the Harbor family in March of 2011 and their daughter, Judah, in December of 2013. Sam was raised in a Christian home where his father served as a pastor in a variety of roles. He attended college at Simpson University where he received his BA in Business Administration and a minor in Biblical Studies. While at Simpson, Sam realized that God was calling him to be a worship leader. He served on staff at two start-up churches in Redding, CA and continued to lead worship and be a part of church leadership when he returned home to Auburn, CA upon graduation in 2006. In addition to leading worship at Combie Bible Church, Sam also co-led the youth group for three years and assisted with the planning and development of Sunday services. Sam has been on the Vision Team since 2009, as well as the worship band since 2008 and has seen God do some amazing things both in his own life, as well as the life of our church in that time. He truly has a passion for the Church and feels extremely blessed that God has called him into fulltime ministry at Harbor. His desire is to see our church represent Christ’s love, grace and compassion to our community and our city to help people understand who Jesus is. Sam is currently pursuing his MA in Intellectual Leadership through Tozer Theological Seminary and will graduate this fall. When Sam is not working, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and playing sports with his kids. Sam is an avid golfer and enthusiastic Giants fan!

In September of 2016, Jonathan accepted a calling to Harbor Church and moved with his family to Folsom, California. Jonathan has a passion for the church and a particular love for discipleship. He and his family are blessed to be a part of a church that values a deep relationship with Jesus Christ.
At a young age Jonathan felt a calling to become a pastor. At around the same time he developed an interest in music and began taking guitar lessons. This new passion eventually became a vocation.
In 2004, Jonathan moved to Texas to study music at Wayland Baptist University. After college he felt a calling to do ministry in San Francisco, California. He studied and received a Masters in Divinity from Golden Gate Theological Seminary in 2012. For eight years he served as a pastor in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Jonathan is married to Selby and together they have two sons, Jadon and Josiah. Selby and Jonathan often wonder what it would be like to get enough sleep. They love to run, play sports, and believe it or not, go for long walks on the beach at night.

Heather Zobel  Administrative Assistant

Heather grew up in a Christian home in Auburn. She entered into a relationship with Christ as a child but was not actively involved in a church until she reached high school. In 2007, Heather married her high school sweetheart, Chris, and moved to Huntington Beach, California. Sadly, in the three years they lived in Surf City USA they never learned to surf.

Heather and Chris started attending Harbor in October of 2011. They were drawn in by a strong sense of community and the church’s passion for Christ. They found the perfect opportunity to get connected by serving as “deckhands” in the tech booth on Sunday mornings and have since enjoyed serving in many different areas of ministry.

After working for several years in public and school libraries, Heather joined Harbor’s staff and enjoys serving in a position that utilizes the gifts God gave her and her passion for working behind-the-scenes.

When Heather is not working she is spending time with family and friends, reading, or just enjoying the outdoors.
