Matt Bach joined Harbor in February 2023 as the Executive Pastor. He takes great joy in supporting and encouraging all facets of the church body, connecting people, and discovering afresh the ways we can grow together in Jesus. He also loves teaching and equipping men and women to research deeply, grow practically, and teach one another. Matt has been married to his wife Becky for almost 20 years. Their lives are full with three children (George 16, Lucy 13, and Henry 9), one Goldendoodle, and a typical, can't be bothered, cat. Matt holds a B.A. in OT Theology from Briercrest Bible College (Canada), a M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and he is in his final years of Ph.D. work in OT/Hebrew Bible Studies through Aberdeen University/Trinity Bristol. Matt has served as a pastor in a number of other places, including New Zealand, and is also an adjunct faculty at Jessup University and Western Seminary. In his free time, Matt loves amassing books to read (and reading them), nerding out on all things Tolkien, chatting over coffee or food, spending time at home (procrastinating on any home projects), and leading tours of Israel.
